Me? Do a cooking blog???

If you would have asked me 5 years ago to do a cooking blog, I would have laughed in your face and then asked if you wanted to go out for a hot fudge sundae (oooh Antoinette's....).  Amazing how a few life changes can make such a difference!

You see, just about 2 years ago, I made the life-changing decision to lose weight.  Little did I know that I would have turned into a fitness-loving, devoted-to-healthy eating, engaged-to-be-married, young woman!  Gone are the days where I'd stop at a fast food restaurant, order greasy food AND a DIET coke.  Yep, I was that person.  Load up the greasy fatty food, but hand me a DIET coke please!  I'll admit it... a cheeseburger and fries does sound good from time to time.  But after 2 years of working out and watching my calorie intake, it's simply just not worth it!

So this little blog will serve as a place where I explain how I managed to lose weight - the HEALTHY way.  Come on people... the weight didn't go on easy, so it doesn't come off easy! It takes hard work and dedication...and the DESIRE to make a life-style change.  It's not about a diet.  It's not about losing weight.  It's about finding a balance between everything and making healthy decisions.

I'll occasionally post some of my typical-day menus, but that's not the greatest idea since I'm not a nutritionist.  What worked for me may or may not work for you.  What I can do for you is post some delicious recipes that I've created (or borrowed from my mom who is an amazing cook).  Go ahead, try the recipes.  Alter them.  Do as you please! Just be sure to give me credit if you're borrowing one of them!
